Memorial Wristbands - Creating memories

What are Memorial Wristbands?

Memorial Wristbands are a specific type of Wristband that are made to remember a person or persons who have sadly died. Commonly they are made from Silicone material and include colours and text or icons that bring back memories of the person. The wristbands are given out at memorial services or events in remembrance of the person and all attendees can take the wristbands home. It is a personalised gift that creates a lasting memory of loved ones who have left us. People wear the wristband as a sign of respect and it can be taken off and worn again whenever required.

How can I design Memorial Wristbands?

The first thing to take into account when using the online designer tool is to choose the size of the wristbands. Are they going to be used primarily by adults, teenagers or children? If a mixture of sizes is required then this can be arranged after the order is placed. The standard adult size is 202mm in diameter, teenager size is 180mm in diameter and childrens sizes range from 150-170mm in diameter depending on the age range. Next up is an important decision, to choose the base colour or colours of the wristband. Silicone bands can match any colour required from green, red, blue white, black, yellow, pink and all shades in between. If the person had a favorite colour - or even 2 colours - then these options can be selected as the base colour of the wristbands. Choose the colour or colours you require and the digital image will update to reflect the changes.

There are 3 main types of finishes for Silicone Wristbands and each has a different name and production method. Printed wristbands have the logos or text or icons printed directly onto the surface of the wristband. This allows for fine print but does mean that the print can be rubbed or scratched quite easily. As most Memorial Wristbands are intended to be worn for a long time, we do not recommend this printed finish. Debossed wristbands have the text logos or icons engraved directly into the material and this ensures that it cannot be rubbed or scratched. Debossed colourfil wristbands adds a colour to the engraved text or icons making it stand out even more. That is the premium option for a long lasting wristband that has its message easily seen.

What do people normally write on Memorial Wristbands?

Each type of wristband will have it's own personalised message that has special meaning. There is no manual to include certain information, but rather the person or persons ordering the wristbands should consider what they want to include. For many people that starts with the name of the person who has passed away and is being remembered. Additional information such as the dates of birth and/or the date they died can also be included. Depending on how much space there is left on the wristband sometimes people add icons that bring back good memories of the person. For example a football icon if they were part of a team, or an animal if they had pets. Other possibilities can include a quote that either the person said, or liked and lived their life by. The possibilities are endless and once the final decision is made the information can be included in the text box and the digital image will update to show a preview on screen. Change the font style and size of the text to create a unique design that resonates and achieves the desired effect.

Adding icons or images to a Memorial Wristband can add a very personal touch that brings a smile to the face of those wearing the wristband. It could be an image of something that was important to the person being remembered such as sports, family, a passion or a hobby. Perhaps they would like a charity to benefit from any donations and as such they would like the logo of the charity included. If there is a specific event to remember the person then the image could relate to the event taking place such as a fundraiser or a race or some other type of gathering. We recommend to keep any images or icons as simple as possible for best effects. Adding images that have multiple colours will increase the cost of the wristband. As you upload any image the preview will automatically refresh and show the full design with text and images. The colour of the text can be changed for the printed and the debossed + colourfil finishes to create the final design.

How many characters can I include?

For Memorial Wristbands we recommend keeping the number of text characters to about 40 or 50 maximum. This ensures that the text is large enough to be read when the wristband is worn. Adding an icon or image may mean that the text needs to be reduced to fit everything in.
